Abilene Man on the Run Captured, Faces Murder Charges

 

ABILENE, TX — A 21-year-old man wanted for murder in Abilene was arrested on May 7 in North Carolina after a coordinated investigation.

According to a press release from the Abilene Police Department, Ivonyai Lamb, 21,  is accused of killing Ramiel Sanders, 46, on February 7 at the Cedar Creek apartment complex in South Abilene

A multi-jurisdictional effort involving the U.S. Marshals Service out of Wilmington, North Carolina, and the New Hanover County SWAT team led to his capture.

Lamb and his sister Keighvoucia were featured on the Abilene Crime Stoppers Wanted list. Keighvoucia was arrested in Abilene on April 29 and charged with aggravated assault.

Ivonyai Lamb had been on the run until his recent arrest, says APD.

The Abilene Police Department thanked the U.S. Marshals Service Abilene Office, Texas DPS, and the Killeen Police Department for their support in the investigation.

Lamb is expected to be extradited to Abilene to face a murder charge.
