LUBBOCK, TX – The Buddy Holly Center’s annual Summer Showcase Concert Series continues Thursday, June 19, with a performance by longtime local favorite Mariachi Mi Tierra.
The twelve-member mariachi group has been a staple in the Lubbock music scene for more than 25 years, performing a wide-ranging repertoire rooted in traditional Mexican music.
The concert will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Meadows Courtyard. Admission is free and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. While outside food is allowed, beverages from outside will not be permitted after 5:15 p.m. Chairs, picnic blankets and similar items are also prohibited inside the gates.
Guests are encouraged to explore the Buddy Holly exhibitions and the Fine Arts Gallery during the event, which will also be open free of charge during showcase hours.
The Summer Showcase runs every Thursday evening through August 14 and is made possible through community sponsorships and donations.
The concert series is presented in partnership with Civic Lubbock, Inc. and the City of Lubbock.
