TxDOT Begins Intersection Upgrades in Halfway

HALFWAY, TX — Starting next week, the Texas Department of Transportation will begin making safety improvements at the intersection of US 70, FM 179, and FM 1070 in Halfway, Hale County.

According to a press release, the overhead stop beacon in place will be removed, and flashing-beacon stop signs will be installed at the FM 179 and FM 1070 intersection.

The installation is scheduled to take place from March 19 to March 20, weather permitting. During this time, drivers should expect short-term lane closures as crews work on the improvements.

TxDOT asks drivers to stay alert, avoid distractions, and exercise caution when passing through the work zone for the safety of both themselves and the workers present.
