Residents, Dogs Safe After Sunday House Fire in Idalou

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a structure fire that occurred early Sunday, April 13, north of Idalou.

Deputies responded to the scene at the 8100 block of East Country Road 5970 at around 1:00 a.m. and found a single-story home fully engulfed in flames.

All occupants evacuated safely, and two dogs on the property were moved to a safe distance. No injuries were reported.

Due to the size and intensity of the fire, multiple fire departments responded, including Idalou, Roosevelt, New Deal, Ransom Canyon, Carlisle, and Abernathy.

According to a press release, the Idalou Police Department assisted with securing the area during firefighting efforts. The fire was fully extinguished by 3:45 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Lubbock County Office of Emergency Management is coordinating with the affected family to connect them with available relief services.
