Keep Lubbock Beautiful Art Contest Winners Announced

 

LUBBOCK, TX — Keep Lubbock Beautiful has announced the winners of its 2025 Annual Art Contest.

According to a press release, this year’s theme, “Reuse it!”, drew 142 entries from students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The contest was divided into elementary, middle, and high school categories.

The top three winners are Devin Flores, Preslea Ellis, and Gianella “Ray” Portillo. Rachel Ruiz, Angella Sandoval Monge, and Abel Sanchez received honorary mentions. Winners will take home a $100 prize and a $50 gift card to Play it Again Sports, while honorary mentions will each receive $75.

One of the winning pieces will also be featured on the side of a City of Lubbock Solid Waste garbage truck, said the release.

The public is invited to a recognition ceremony for the winners at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the Municipal Garden and Arts Center, 4215 University Avenue.
