LUBBOCK, TX — The Buddy Holly Center will celebrate National Train Day on Saturday with a day of educational and family-oriented activities. The event is free and open to the public.
According to a press release, the program will begin at 10:30 a.m. on May 10 with a reading of A Train Story, aimed at young children and families. During the day, guests can participate in an interactive scavenger hunt to guide them through the museum's exhibits.
At 1:30 p.m., a curator from the center will discuss the history of the museum’s building, which originally served as a railway depot. The presentation will explore rail transportation in Lubbock’s early development and the building’s significance.
The event offers a chance for visitors of all ages to learn more about Lubbock’s rail history and train travel in the region.
