UPDATE: Dustin Garrett's Electric Mambo show will be canceled due to inclement weather. The Buddy Holly Center stated in a press release that they will try to reschedule at a later date.

LUBBOCK, TX — The Buddy Holly Center’s Summer Showcase Concert Series will continue Thursday, June 5, with a performance by Dustin Garrett’s Electric Mambo.

According to a press release from the Buddy Holly Center, Garrett, a Lubbock native, has played lead guitar for over 20 years and formed Electric Mambo in 2019.

The group is known for performing popular cover songs and creating a rhythm-driven sound that encourages audience participation through dancing and movement, the release says.

The Summer Showcase concerts are held weekly on Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Meadows Courtyard and will continue through August 14. Admission is free, and seating is first come, first served.

Guests can bring outside food, but outside beverages are not allowed after 5:15 p.m. Chairs, picnic blankets, and similar items are not permitted inside the concert gates.

The public is also encouraged to visit the Buddy Holly exhibitions and the Fine Arts Gallery, open during the concert with free admission.
