LUBBOCK, TX — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Lubbock office will soon undergo major repairs due to damage caused by a fire in the summer of 2024.
According to a press release, construction is expected to start as early as Monday, July 7.
Despite the ongoing work, the office plans to stay open and maintain regular business hours. Officials noted that there may be occasional closures if power is lost or if safety becomes a concern for visitors and staff.
During the months-long repair period, the Lubbock office will prioritize processing commercial licenses, commercial dealer requests, and boat title transfers, says the release.
For other services such as recreational hunting and fishing licenses, boat registration renewals, and Off-Highway Vehicle decals, the public should use other nearby license vendors or go online.
Additional offices are available in Amarillo, Abilene, and Midland for in-person assistance.
The office will be open on Thursday, July 3, but will close Friday, July 4, for the holiday.
