LUBBOCK, TX — In observance of Independence Day, City of Lubbock offices will be closed Friday, July 4. Normal operations will resume Monday, July 7.
Below is a breakdown of service adjustments and closures for the holiday:
Residential Trash Collection
Solid waste collection normally scheduled for Friday, July 4, will occur one day earlier on Thursday, July 3.
Recycling and Landfill Operations

Both city landfills will be closed Friday, July 4, and Saturday, July 5.

The attended drop-off recycling station will also be closed Friday, July 4.
All Lubbock Public Library locations will be closed Friday, July 4.
Community and Recreation Centers

All community centers, senior centers, and Safety City will be closed on July 4.

Burgess Rushing Tennis Center will remain open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Buddy Holly Center, Silent Wings Museum, and the Garden & Arts Center will all be closed on Friday, July 4.
