City of Lubbock Offices Closed on Labor Day

 

LUBBOCK, TX — City of Lubbock offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 1, in observance of Labor Day. Normal operations will resume Tuesday, Sept. 2. Several city services and facilities will operate on adjusted schedules over the holiday weekend.

Residential Trash Collection

Solid waste collection normally scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 1–2, will move to Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 2–3.

Recycling and Landfill Operations

  • Both landfills will be closed Monday, Sept. 1, reopening Tuesday.

  • All attended drop-off stations will be closed Monday and resume regular hours Tuesday.

Libraries

All Lubbock Public Library locations will be closed Monday.

Recreational Facilities and Community Centers

  • Burgess-Rushing Tennis Center will be open from 8 a.m.–2 p.m. Monday.

  • All community and senior centers, as well as Safety City, will be closed Monday and reopen Tuesday.

Cultural Facilities

The Buddy Holly Center, Silent Wings Museum, and Garden & Arts Center will be closed Monday, reopening with normal hours Tuesday.
