Graham Leads Texas Tech Through Two Rounds at Big 12 Golf Championship

 

TULSA, OK — Freshman Connor Graham led Texas Tech on Tuesday during the opening 36 holes of the Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship at Southern Hills Country Club, finishing the day tied for ninth overall with a two-round total of 3-over-par 143.

Graham, who recorded seven birdies across the two rounds, opened with a 3-over 73 and followed with an even-par 70 to post the lowest score of any Red Raider. He was the only player on the team to shoot par or better on the par-70 layout and will look to secure his second top-10 collegiate finish when play resumes Wednesday.

Senior Calum Scott rebounded from a 6-over 76 in round one with a 1-over 71 in round two to climb 24 spots on the leaderboard. He enters Wednesday tied for 30th at 7-over-par (147). Sophomore Tim Wiedemeyer followed with a 3-over 73 in the second round, placing him tied for 34th at 8-over (148) after a 75 in the opener.

The Red Raiders finished Tuesday tied for seventh with BYU, Kansas State and Arizona at 27-over-par (587). Texas Tech improved by 11 shots from its opening round 299 with an 8-over 288 in round two to move up five spots on the team leaderboard.

Sean Keeling will enter the lineup Wednesday in place of Price Hill. Keeling will teed off first for Texas Tech at 7:30 a.m. on hole No. 10. Graham went off last in the group at 8:18 a.m.

The championship continues Wednesday with the third round, followed by the final round Thursday.
