LUBBOCK, TX — The Texas Tech Red Raiders recently announced the addition of former Incarnate Word wideout. Roy Alexander, to the football roster. Alexander joins the Red Raiders as a graduate transfer from Incarnate Word and will use his final year of eligibility in Lubbock.
Alexander enjoyed a breakout 2024 season at UIW, finishing second in the FCS in receptions, fifth in receiving touchdowns, and 10th in receiving yards. He caught 100 passes for 1,108 yards and 13 touchdowns over 14 games.
A versatile playmaker, Alexander also added two rushing touchdowns and helped lead UIW to an undefeated conference season and a run to the FCS quarterfinals.
Previously, Alexander spent three seasons at UAlbany (2021–23), where he began his career as a cornerback before transitioning to wide receiver. Across his collegiate career, he has totaled 202 receptions for 2,422 yards and 20 touchdowns.
As a student, Alexander was recognized for his academic excellence, earning the 2024 Southland Conference Football Student-Athlete of the Year honor. He completed his bachelor's degree in sociology at UAlbany in May 2024 and carried a 4.0 GPA during his graduate studies in sports management at UIW.
A native of Fort Myers, Florida, Alexander prepped at Riverdale High School before spending a postgraduate year at Bridgton Academy in Maine.
