LUBBOCK, TX — Texas Tech seniors Charlie DeLong and Calum Scott are set to begin their professional golf careers after earning spots on PGA TOUR Americas following the conclusion of the 2024-25 collegiate season.
Scott secured his place on the tour thanks to a strong showing in the PGA TOUR University rankings, finishing 17th overall. That finish guaranteed him PGA TOUR Americas membership for the remainder of the 2025 season and exempted him into the second stage of Q-School. The Scottish native clinched his spot during the Red Raiders’ final round of stroke play at the NCAA Championships on May 26.
PGA TOUR University, launched in 2022, provides top collegiate players a direct path to professional competition. Texas Tech alum Ludvig Åberg was the inaugural No. 1 in the program, earning a PGA TOUR card in 2023.

DeLong, who ranked 38th in the PGA TOUR University standings, earned his tour status the hard way—via qualifying school. Competing in the PGA TOUR Americas Q-School – Midwest event from June 3-6 at Champions Pointe Golf Club in Henryville, Indiana, DeLong shot a 21-under-par 267 (67-71-65-64) to tie for fourth in a 140-player field. His finish was good enough to claim one of 11 available exemptions for the North America swing.
Both Red Raiders will debut as professionals on the 2025 PGA TOUR Americas North America swing, which begins July 3-6 at the Explore NB Open at Mactaquac Golf Course in New Brunswick, Canada.
