LUBBOCK, TX — The City of Lubbock Animal Services (LAS) is seeking volunteers to foster animals currently housed at the city shelter in an effort to address overcrowding and support the growing number of stray animals in the community.
According to LAS, volunteer fosters help reduce crowding at the facility and provide animals with a more social and lower-stress environment. Fostering also gives staff the opportunity to learn more about the animals’ behaviors in a home setting, which can aid in future adoptions.
City officials are also reminding residents of the importance of spaying and neutering pets as a means of reducing the stray population.
Those interested in fostering or seeking information about spay and neuter resources are encouraged to call LAS at 806-775-2057.
