City of Lubbock Announces Good Friday Closures

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The City of Lubbock offices will be closed on Friday, April 18, in observance of the Good Friday holiday. Normal operations will resume on Monday, April 21. Several city departments and services will also adjust their schedules ahead of the weekend.

Trash and Recycling Services

  • Residential trash collection will run as normal on Monday and Tuesday.

  • Thursday routes will be picked up on Wednesday, April 16, and Friday routes will be collected on Thursday, April 17.

  • Citizen Convenience Centers will be open on Friday, April 18, but closed on Saturday, April 19.

  • Both city landfills will be closed Friday, April 18.

Lubbock Public Libraries

  • All branches will be closed Friday, April 18, and Sunday, April 20.

  • Regular hours resume on Monday, April 21.

Cultural Facilities

  • The Buddy Holly Center, Silent Wings Museum, and Garden & Arts Center will be closed Friday and Sunday.

  • The Buddy Holly Center and Silent Wings Museum will be open Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • The Garden & Arts Center will be open Saturday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Community Centers and Programs

  • The adult meal program will not operate on Friday, April 18, and will resume Monday, April 21.

  • Maxey, Hodges, Maggie Trejo, Copper Rawlings, and Mae Simmons Community and Senior Centers will be closed Friday, reopening Monday.

  • Safety City will be closed on Friday, April 18, and Sunday, April 20.

  • Burgess-Rushing Tennis Center will be open Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and closed Sunday.
