UPDATE: Texas Tech's Matchup Against Arizona Delayed Due to Saturday

UPDATE: Texas Tech's matchup against Arizona has been delayed until Saturday, April 26, at 1 p.m. Texas Tech Athletics made the announcement at around 7:25 p.m.

LUBBOCK, TX — Texas Tech Baseball's Friday matchup against No. 16 Arizona did not begin as scheduled due to lightning and thunderstorms in the area.

The game, originally slated to begin at 6:30 p.m., has entered a weather delay under further notice.

The Red Raiders and the fans now enter the waiting game as the thunderstorms continue to move across the South Plains. In order for the all clear to be given, lightning must not strike within 8 miles of Rip Griffin Park.

According to the NCAA, "Games must be suspended and participants directed to seek shelter when lightning is detected within 8 miles of the facility. Activities should not be resumed until 30 minutes after the last lightning strike within that 8-mile radius."

The Red Raiders look for a key ranked win against the No. 16 Arizona Wildcats this weekend.
