Lane Closures Expected at 82nd and Indiana for City Water Project

LUBBOCK, TX — Drivers in South Lubbock should expect lane closures near 82nd Street and Indiana Avenue starting Thursday, June 5, as part of a city water project.

According to a press release, crews with Rinks Lease Services, Inc. will be working west of the intersection to install a 12-inch gate valve, part of the ongoing Pressure Zone Delineation Project to improve water flow and pressure in the area. Asphalt repairs will also be made.

The construction will disrupt westbound traffic on 82nd Street and northbound traffic on Indiana Avenue. Lanes in both directions will be restricted, and delays are likely during peak hours, says the release.

Drivers should avoid the area if possible and use caution if passing through.

Work is expected to be finished by Friday, June 6, weather permitting.
