Man Allegedly Pleasures Himself at Student Apartments, Flees Police

LUBBOCK, TX — A man was arrested Thursday after police say he allegedly exposed himself to a woman and attempted to flee from officers at a Lubbock student living apartment complex.

According to court documents, Lubbock Police officers responded to a call at Park East Student Living Apartments at 1819 Glenna Goodacre Boulevard regarding a civil disturbance.

When officers arrived, a woman told them that a man, later identified as Ruben Sosa, 25, knocked on her door and asked to use her shower. While asking, she stated that Sosa was "in the process of masturbating" and "exposed his penis to her."

The woman quickly slammed the door on him and called 911.

While speaking with the woman, officers saw a man in the hallway who matched the description given by the woman. When officers approached him, Sosa took off and jumped over a railing on the second floor.

He fled across Glenna Goodacre Boulevard into the Walmart parking lot on Avenue Q, where he was eventually taken into custody. Court documents did not state if Sosa and the woman had any relationship with each other.

Ruben Sosa was arrested and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on charges of Public Lewdness, Indecent Exposure, and Evading Arrest.

His total bond is set at $9,000.
