LUBBOCK, TX— The City of Lubbock Code Enforcement Department will conduct a neighborhood deployment in the Smithlawn area on Wednesday, July 9, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to address common code violations and educate residents on local ordinances.
The deployment zone is bounded by 82nd Street, Interstate 27, South Loop 289, and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. A temporary field office will be established at 702 76th Street, where residents can ask questions or report violations directly to city officials.
During the deployment, inspectors will focus on identifying and addressing issues related to junked vehicles, nuisance weeds and rubbish, substandard housing, and zoning violations. Code Enforcement staff will speak with residents, issue citations as necessary, and may initiate abatement of certain violations.
To assist residents in the area, the Solid Waste Department will provide a roll-off dumpster at the field office. Citizens within the deployment area are encouraged to use the dumpster to dispose of large, unwanted items such as furniture, appliances, and tree branches.
