Texas Tech’s Robin Villeneuve Returning for 2026 Season

LUBBOCK, TX — Texas Tech first baseman Robin Villeneuve will return to the Red Raiders for the 2026 baseball season, the program announced Thursday.

Villeneuve, who transferred from Tennessee after a national championship season in 2024, is using his extra year of eligibility granted to student-athletes who previously competed at non-NCAA institutions.

In his first year at Texas Tech, Villeneuve led the team with a .365 batting average, 18 doubles, a .447 on-base percentage, and a 1.108 OPS. The Quebec native also recorded 69 hits, 46 runs, 12 home runs, and 49 RBIs en route to earning Second Team All-Big 12 honors.

Defensively, Villeneuve posted a .991 fielding percentage with 36 assists and just four errors at first base.

Before joining the Red Raiders, Villeneuve played two seasons at Weatherford College, where he led the NJCAA in home runs in 2023. He spent the 2024 season at Tennessee.
