SAN DIEGO, CA — First-team All-American Macy Blackburn recorded three first-half assists, and Taylor Zdrojewski added a goal and an assist to lead No. 25 Texas Tech to a 4-0 win over San Diego State on Thursday night at SDSU Sports Deck.
Blackburn assisted on the first three Red Raider goals, delivering from a free kick, a throw-in and a corner. Her first came less than four minutes in, when her long service was flicked on by Zdrojewski to Kaitlyn Giametta, who finished for the season’s first goal.
Tech doubled its lead in the seventh minute when Blackburn’s throw-in led to a pass from Chloe Japic to Sam Courtright, who fired a shot off the crossbar and in. It was Courtright’s first goal since returning from a season-ending knee injury in 2023.
In the 34th minute, Blackburn’s corner found Zdrojewski at the far post for a header, giving Tech a 3-0 halftime lead.
Freshman Raliegh Greason capped the scoring in the 79th minute, finishing a pass from Japic after a combination with Millie Elwood for her first career goal.
