City of Lubbock Accepting Applications for the Lake Alan Henry Board of Appeals

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The City of Lubbock is now accepting applications for upcoming vacancies on the Lake Alan Henry Board of Appeals. This board offers citizens an opportunity to participate directly in guiding the future of Lake Alan Henry and ensuring compliance with established development standards.

The term for these positions begins June 1, 2026. The deadline to submit an application is Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Applicants who previously submitted an application on or after January 1, 2024, will automatically be considered; however, the City encourages individuals to log in and update their applications to ensure all information on file is current.

About the Lake Alan Henry Board of Appeals

The Lake Alan Henry Board of Appeals:

  • Reviews new construction permit applications and requests for variances within Lake Alan Henry’s restrictive easement, per Section 2-570 of Ordinance 2008-O0038.

  • Reviews applications under the Lake Alan Henry Erosion Control Plan and considers variance requests filed with the City Planning Department.

  • Determines required materials and documentation for permit applications.

  • Issues construction permits and hears appeals as outlined in Section 2-580 of the City’s Code of Ordinances.
