Multiple City Services Will Be Closed on MLK Day

 

LUBBOCK, Texas — City of Lubbock offices will be closed Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, January 20.

Residential Trash Collection

  • Monday residential trash collection will take place on Tuesday.

  • Tuesday routes will be collected on Wednesday.

Recycling and Landfill Operations

  • City of Lubbock Drop-Off Recycling Centers, Citizen Convenience Stations, and both landfill facilities will be closed on Monday.

  • Normal operations resume on Tuesday.

Libraries

  • All Lubbock Public Library locations will be closed on Monday.

  • Regular hours resume Tuesday, January 20.

Cultural Facilities

  • The Buddy Holly Center, the Silent Wings Museum, and the Garden & Arts Center will be closed on Monday, January 19.

  • Normal hours resume Tuesday, January 20.

Community Centers

  • The adult meal program will not be offered on Monday.

  • Normal service resumes Tuesday, January 20.

Parks Facilities

  • The Burgess-Rushing Tennis Center and Safety City will be closed on Monday.

  • Regular operating hours resume on Tuesday.
