City of Lubbock Seeking Volunteer Host Families for Junior Ambassadors Exchange Program

LUBBOCK, TX — The City of Lubbock is seeking host families for Japanese students visiting this summer as part of its longstanding Junior Ambassador exchange program with Musashino City, Japan.

The relationship between Lubbock and Musashino City began in 1986 when the two communities became sister cities to promote international youth exchange opportunities. Since then, students from both cities have traveled abroad as junior ambassadors, helping build cultural understanding and a lasting friendship between the communities.

This summer, a group of students from Musashino City will visit Lubbock for one week in July, and the city is looking for local families willing to host two Japanese Junior Ambassadors during their stay.

Families interested in participating can contact [email protected] for application information.

The application deadline is June 26.

More information about the program is available at mylubbock.us/JrAmbassadors.
